Intercooperation has a policy of decentralization and subsidiarity, aimed at ownership, effectiveness and efficiency. Operational decisions are taken in the field - at project or programme level - in close coordination with the partner organisations involved.
Intercooperation’s operations in the field are managed by the following regional units :
- Regional Unit Eastern Europe
- Sahel with a Delegation in Bamako and a representation in Niamey (Niger)
- Madagascar
- Latin America with a Delegation in Lima (Peru) and representations in Quito (Ecuador), La Paz (Bolivia) and Managua (Nicaragua)
- South Asia with delegations in Peshawar (Pakistan), Dhaka (Bangladesh), a representation in Kathmandu (Nepal) and a Programme Office Helvetas/IC in Afghanistan.
