Stakeholders
The members of Intercooperation's Foundation Council represent 21 institutions of the development community of Switzerland, civil society and the private sector, as well as selected international organisations. Intercooperation maintains strong links with its members, be it on the level of conceptual dialogue, through operational collaborations or by approaching potential sources of funding among them.
Development partners are the people and organisations for whom we work, the end-users of our services, rural households, farmer organisations, micro-enterprises, associations, community groups, municipalities and others. Intercooperation sees itself as the honest intermediary between the organisations mandating us and these development partners, between "finance and action".
Funding partners are those organisations from whom we receive our funding, be it for mandates, "in trust" for the execution of projects or as a complementary contribution to one of our on-going activities. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, SDC, is and shall remain our most important funding partner and client. Besides SDC and seco, the Swiss State Secretariate for Economic Affairs, Intercooperation seeks funding from other government, private, corporate and international donors and mandators.
Collaborative partners are those with whom we engage in contractual arrangements. In its programme countries, Intercooperation works with public partners (ministries, local governments), NGO's or private sector organizations. In Switzerland, internationally and in the countries where we mainrain delegations or representations, Intercooperation has links with a wide range of important partner organisations and qualified individual experts, through networks, joint-ventures or sub-contracts. In this way, we pool competence and capacities for the benefit of our programmes and clients.
Specific partners and stakeholders are mentioned in the chapter on Projects and Mandates .
