Forum 2004
Regional exchange and capitalization of experiences: examples from the South
Every year in August Intercooperation (IC) organizes a Forum-Day. This
day is part of a week in which IC assembles head office and field
staff in Switzerland to discuss development issues and institutional
questions. The Forum-Day deals with a topic of specific interest to
development practitioners. People beyond IC, particularly collaborators
of SDC, of IC's foundation members, of sister NGOs and of consultants
are also invited to the Forum-Day.
The topic of this year's forum is the practical application of
knowledge management instruments in the natural resource domain. The
examples presented deal with exchange of experiences over time and
between geographical regions. IC is particularly interested in these
issues because IC turns more and more into a knowledge organization,
linking technical, methodological and context knowledge to operational
know-how.
The crucial question is, how does knowledge generated elswhere and in
the past become useful and effective for IC's programmes and partners.
