Documentation at Intercooperation
With its documentation, Intercooperation endeavours to meet the staff's need
for information.
The main purpose of the documentation is to supply the staff members with relevant work-related information. This includes the following basic tasks:
- collecting documents of relevance (according to the working domains ) and adding them to the database
- managing the subscription and circulation of newsletters and journals
- collecting relevant technical project documents (see also Knowledge Management )
- searching external information sources (WWW, library catalogues, databases) and getting hold of the documents
- informing and advising Intercooperation staff
- monitoring the use of different information sources and services.
- fostering contacts with other professionals in the field (e.g. NEDS Network of Swiss Development Documentation Centres)
For the mandates with a documentation component a broader range of services is offered: e.g. webmastering, website screening, compilation of bibliographies - see also Expertise and Services .
