Intercooperation is registered in Nepal!
On 1 December, Intercooperation became formally registered in Nepal as an international NGO. The agreement was signed at the Social Welfare Council of Nepal, with IC Representative Dr Bharat Pokharel acting on behalf of Intercooperation.
The agreement comes at an excellent time in the on-going political evolution
in Nepal. The recent signing of a peace deal between the Maoists and an
alliance of seven political parties, and the formation of an interim
government, paves the way for peaceful developments. Intercooperation seeks
to build on its current activities in forestry (see
NSCFP
) and soil conservation (see
SSMP
) to contribute
further to Nepal's rural development, especially in enterprise development
and local governance.Last modified 14-02-2007 04:20 PM
