New climate change programme - Peru

A consortium of Intercooperation, Libélula and PREDES has been selected by SDC to implement a new programme, “Adaptation to Climate Change” (Adaptación al Cambio Climático”, PACC) in Peru.
The project will commence in May 2008, with a projected time span of 7 years. It will collaborate with local organisations in the provinces of Cusco and Apurímac, working in a participatory manner to define the issues of vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, prioritise first steps towards adaptation, and include these at a policy level. The programme will also include an advisory component on climate change for all SDC projects in Peru. A scientific institution in Switzerland that is yet to be selected will provide academic support.
