Two Intercooperation experts selected as Lead Author for the 5th Assessment Report (AR5) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
Lead Authors are responsible for the production of designated sections of the reports on the basis of the best scientific, technical and socio-economic information available. The themes are divided into three working groups, each one having its own work schedule. The AR5 is due to be fully completed in September 2014.

Carmenza Robledo and Rupa Mukerji have been selected as Lead Author respectively in the WG III for the Chapter 11 on “Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Uses” and in the WG II focusing on the theme of impacts, adaptation and vulnerability, for the Chapter 1: "Point of Departure". This honorific appointment is a proof of their great professional reputation.
Because of its scientific and intergovernmental nature, the IPCC embodies a unique opportunity to provide rigorous and balanced scientific information to decision makers. By endorsing the IPCC reports, governments acknowledge the authority of their scientific content. In 2007 the IPCC was honored – together with Al Gore – with the Nobel Peace Prize.
