Intercooperation supports continued collaboration with Eastern countries

On 26 November 2006, the Swiss electorate will vote on the Federal Law on Eastern Europe, concerning continued assistance to partner countries in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Intercooperation has partnered with Birdlife Switzerland, Pro Natura Switzerland and WWF Switzerland in strong support of continued federal assistance to these countries. The four organisations note that Swiss support for projects in the Eastern block has helped to protect species diversity, combat air pollution, and reduce the tendency towards global warming. The Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation, SDC also states that continued cooperation corresponds with the Swiss tradition of solidarity and humanitarian concern and support for the environment - and represents an investment in the future.

Achieving more together

Helvetas and Intercooperation entered a strategic partnership in 2008. Within the next 12 months, they will become one organisation under the name of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation.
