Strategic Partnership Helvetas - Intercooperation

The governing bodies of Helvetas and Intercooperation have agreed to enter into a strategic partnership which in the mid-term is intended to lead to an integration of our operations.

Helvetas (www.helvetas.org) is a big Swiss non-faith based NGO with a large membership and activities mainly in rural areas in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

The aim of this cooperation is to strengthen - jointly with our partners - our contribution to poverty alleviation and the improvement of basic life resources in the countries of the South and the East. By combining the strengths of Intercooperation and Helvetas, we will consolidate and expand our thematic and methodological competences, improve the effectiveness of our projects as well as our internal efficiency, and ensure interesting long-term work perspectives to our collaborators.

As strategic partners, both organisations will continue implementing their operations in their own competence and responsibility. However, we will strive to avoid duplications and to create and capitalise on synergies.

Helvetas and Intercooperation are convinced that the cooperation will enable them to strengthen their role as competent Swiss actors and service providers for the international and development cooperation and to further advance the quality of their contributions to projects and advisory mandates.
