North Korea (Korean-Swiss Agricultural Support Programme)
Description
By the end of 2006 the 3rd phase of the "Korean-Swiss Agricultural Support Programme – KSASP" comes to its preliminary end. An analysis and evaluation of the achievements will be helpful in order to plan follow-up phases and to submit in time optional programme proposals for discussion and budgeting with the Korean authorities and partners.
This refers as well to the Sloping Land Management-Project (SLM) which was started in 2003 on a pilot-base in the Suan-county in close cooperation with the Ministry of Land and Environ-ment Protection (MoLEP) and the Central Forestry Design Institute – CFDI (implementing agency).
The basic project documents for the 1st phase 2005 – 2006 had been elaborated by a team of Swiss specialists in collaboration with the MoLEP. Meanwhile the MoLEP respectively the CFDI has taken over all tasks of project administration which is assisted by the staff of the KSASP-Support Unit at the SDC-Office.
Progress so far made in this project encourages further cooperation in the agri-forestry sector in Suan-county or even other counties within the KSASP.
