BSM MDPi (Coaching and backstopping mandate for MDPi, Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Description

In the third phase of the project , an association formed by the staff of the former project unit (Center for Management, Development and Planning - Short name: MDP Initiatives, MDPi), is responsible for implementing the Municipal Development Project. Intercooperation will coach the team in the implementation of the project and in the establishment of MDPi as a service provider for the municipal development. The coaching and backstopping mandate supports MDPi along the project objectives in the following areas: a) support to MDPi for MDP Phase 3 management and implementation; b) support in decision making, development and management of the association; c) support in the establishment of MDPi as a competent national service provider. The Municipal Development Project's project goal is that partner municipalities and MDPi continuously upgrade their capacities and actively contribute to improvement of LED situation, utilisation of EU funds and inter-municipal cooperation, in conformity with the principles of good governance and human rights. The main field of activities of MDPi are: - support administrative bodies in carrying out the tasks primarily related to local development, in accordance with decentralization laws and policies; - education and awareness building of the public, civic and private sector representatives about good governance principles and application of international standards in the local planning and development processes; - cooperation, partnership building and joint implementation of projects with institutions and organizations in BiH with similar organizational goals.
